I created this fun Thanksgiving songs to focus on specific articulation.
Choirs can sing the gratitude round in unison, two parts, or four parts.
It’s always a victory when a piece of music can be fun and also a learning tool!
If you are looking for a song for Thanksgiving that is useful and productive, this Thanksgiving/Fall Gratitude Round is for you.
This tricky round focuses on the “th” consonant, that has two different sounds. By making students hyper-aware of the “th” each time and teaching them how to position their tongue, students will improve their diction.
Sing this round throughout the fall season as it makes no direct mention of Thanksgiving. Also, it is a great choice for a performance and it is written with a beautiful ending chord, naturally infused into the round.
Sing in in unison before breaking up into a mixed choir. Next, the suggested entrance order would be: Bass, Soprano, Alto, Tenor. This will allow for the best ending.
- There are tons of things to be thankful for.
- Things that we’re grateful for, we should give thanks for all.
- Think of the things that we treasure and cherish.
- Those are the things we should thank every fall!
Many choirs do not properly voice the “Th” sound. This round is a great tool to focus on this concept. The “tr” and “ch” are two often confused consonants; they should sound different. This is the focus of the Trick or Treat Round.
